And now for the second act...the Mediterranean. 

We'll say good-bye to the Vision of the Seas and all our friends on May 18 in Copenhagen.  We'll fly to Barcelona where we will spend the night before boarding the Serenade of the Seas on May 19.


Once again, we have planned so many fun excursions in all sorts of romantic and exotic places that there will be many posts full of pictures.  Here's an outline of what to expect for this cruise:

May 19: Boarding and sail-away from Barcelona
May 20: Villefranche (Nice), France - Tour to Nice & Eze
May 21: Livorno (Florence), Italy - Tour to the Leaning Tower of Pisa
May 22: Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy - Tour of Rome, all the main sights
May 23 - 24: At sea
May 25: Piraeus (Athens), Greece - Tour to the Acropolis and all the main sights
May 26: Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey - Tour the ruins considered the birthplace of civilization
May 27: Santorini, Greece - Tour of Oia, ride the cable car down from Fira
May 28: At sea
May 29: Naples (Salerno), Italy - Tour Pompeii & eat pizza!
May 30: At sea
May 31: Back to Barcelona & travel home

I've spent endless days researching each city and all the sites so we max our time in each place.  I'll be on a magnet quest in every port as each one is new to us, except Barcelona.  We're anticipating warm, dry weather for this part of the trip.  We'll be ready for it after the Fjords and Baltic.

I won't start posting to this until May 19 when we transition to Serenade.
